birthday card

This is a card for my Mother-in-Law. It's her birthday today. I totally CASEd this from Kurtis. I'll look for his blog link and add it to my sidebar. He does AMAZING stuff.
I used Natural Beauty stamp set, stamped the flower in black and colored in with the pencils and blender pens. I then cut an oval out of a piece of scrap paper and put it overtop and used my chalks to color the yellow around the flowers. The fiber is from somewhere, not SU!. I got it as a gift one year, maybe it's from Micheals. The Birthday wishes is stamped in Old Olive to match the fiber.

last of the cancer basket projects

This is a mini chipboard album. The pp is not SU! it was just a sheet I had laying around and didn't know how to use. I like how it looks in this mini album. I think I put 5 pages in it.
I can't remember what this mini album was called. It's not accordian, but it's made with only 1 sheet of 12 x 12 cardstock, plus the covers. And you don't need to glue the pages together, it's a really cool folding technique to make the pages.
Here's the inside. The round brown tabs are the tops to some tags I stuck in there for journaling. I stitched and stamped and added some pp to the pages. The pages BTW, are 3 x 3 so a great size for a mini book.
These are 2 post-it note holders.

So I think this completes my package of goodies for my penpals cancer basket. Hope she likes all the things I've made.

Scrap Day

So my scrap day was a great success!! I don't have oodles of room so limited it to 5 people and we had a blast. Everyone loved it and got a lot accomplished.
I will be having more of these for sure!!
Thanks to everyone who came out and scrapped with me.

Breast cancer cards

I made these cards for my pen pal. She puts together cancer baskets as a fundraiser so I'm donating these cards as well as some other projects. (which I have to make yet)
This first one I CASEd off of SCS again. Thought it was funny but still an important message.
I also used a retired set called Hope Is... to make all these cards.

Had to make these

I made these as sympathy cards. The top one is done with Sage Shadow and Elegant Eggplant. An interesting combo, but beautiful. You can't tell but I put glitter on the dragon, very nice IRL.
Well this is about all I got done today as I also cleaned out my storage room. I can finally walk instead of hurdle, to my washer and dryer!!

This Saturday is my Scrapbook day. I only have one spot left so that makes me very happy. Hope the girls have a great time.

Pics of my room

This is to the front of the room. The first window I just have my bundle of material hanging on it to see if the color looked okay. I like it so will make curtains for all the windows with that.
I think I'll need Dwight to paint that filing cabinet again, orange doesn't go so well in this room. lol
Dwight bought me this cart from Home Hardware, I just love it. It's on wheels so I can move it around where I need it.
This is the shelf I use to hold my stamp sets I like to use. I painted it the same color as the walls in my room.
A look out the back way. The door leads to the back yard.
A shelf I hung today. I need to find some clips to put on the rod so I can hang my layouts on there for display. Any ideas??
The desk is old and looks bad but it does the job. Apparently I can't spend ALL our money in this room. lol
This is my desk area. If you've been in my room before today you'll see I changed it. I had the desk under the window and the hutch part beside it on the floor. I like this better.

Hope you come over and stamp with me one day!!

What a beautiful day

Wow was it gorgeous out today. Love it!! Hope this means spring is right around the corner.

Well, I got 2 more cards done yesterday. (Acutally 4, doubles of each)
The recipe for this one is: creamy caramel cs and ink, chocolate chip cs and ink, whisper white cs, white jel pen, ivory organdy ribbon and the sentiment is from the level 1 hostess set.

This card was super easy. The recipe is: whisper white cs, night of navy ink, brocade blue ink, so saffron ink, black stazon ink.

Well, I had my cutomer appreciation day on Wed. Didn't go as well as hoped but not bad. I think I might try a hostess appreciation night at the end of this month too. We'll see. It'll be by special invitation only and a surprise at the end.

Hope you all enjoy the warm weather!!

Newsletter

I sent out a newsletter to all my customers I had email or snail mail addy's for. If you or anyone you know would like to be added to the list let me know. I'm planning on sending them out once every 3 months. All important information will be in there. I'm also posting a copy of the newsletter here:

Hi everyone, I hope this newsletter finds you warm and cozy during this cold time of year. Of course it was during this coldest time of year that we decided to move to a new home. Now that we're in and settled I'm happy to say it was worth it.
A new year brings a few new things, first of all I'm hoping to send out a quarterly newsletter to all my customers, either snail mail or email. These newsletters will include class schedules, specials, important dates, etc. (This newletter will acutally be 2 quarters as it's so late)

With my new home I have aquired my own studio so I will be offering more classes and I will hold them here. Also, when you decide to host a SU! workshop you have the option to host it in your home or mine!
SU! is also making a few changes starting in July. In order to keep up with the latest trends in scrapbooking and cardmaking they will now have 2 main catalogs a year and 2 mini catalogs a year. This means twice a year they will retire some sets and introduce some exciting new ones. I can hardly wait!! The dates these catties will run are:
**Spring Mini '07 March 1st-June30th
-retirement list release May 1/07
**Fall/Winter Collection Main Cataloge July 1/07-Dec. 31/07
-retirement list release Dec. 1/07
**Holiday Collection Mini Cataloge Sept. 1/07-Nov.30/07
**Spring/Summer Collection Main Cataloge Jan.1/08-June30/08
-retirement list release June 1/08
**Occasions Collection Mini Cataloge March 1/08-May 30/08
In addition to the following classes I still offer in-home workshops for hostesses wanting to earn FREE product. Also, if there is something specific you would love to learn, let me know and I'll add a class. Or if you get a group of friends together for a particular class I can do that too. Call me for prices and available dates.
Please note that I only need a min of 2 people to sign up for me to run a class, otherwise I will cancel it. I would appreciate if you register and pay 2 weeks prior to the class so I can get enough supplies. And remember, you are always welcome to sign up a friend too.

I tried to put a list of all the important dates on the side bar but it's all wonkie. I'll try to figure it out another day as I really need to go to bed now.

I got to play today

Well it feels like forever since I've been able to do what I want to do in my studio. These past 2 weeks I've been working on an album for my husbands' Aunt. Finally got it done, feels so good to say that. I also got my cirlcle journal page done and working on the next one. I'm loving the circle journal thing, so glad I joined.

Well here are the cards I made this evening. What do you think?

This card is the reflection technique. So much easier than I thought it would be and I love the result I got. So much prettier IRL. Supplies I used are Elegant Eggplant cs and ink, black stazon ink, black cs and ink, glossy white cs, versamark and clear embossing powder.

I'm thinking I'll send this card to my brother in law as a 'just because'. He's been working Saturdays lately as it's RRSP season so I thought he could use a pick me up. Hope he likes it.

This is just a fun card using the Stamp of Authenticity set. LOVE that set and I'm loving this card. I kinda CASEd it off of one I saw on Splitcoast again. Stuff I used: Always Artichoke ink and cs, Close to Cocoa ink and cs, Really Rust ink and cs, stitched ribbon (was in the Holiday mini but is still available), and some brads.

This one I'm sending to my girlfriend. She has had a lot of bad fluff fall on her these past few months and so I just want her to know I'm here for her.
