Out of the box...

That's right, I stepped out of my box. This card is 8.5" x 4". A very different size for me, but I loved it. I used Beate Jones sketch to create this card for Dwight's niece. She turned 11 years old yesterday and we'll be seeing them tomorrow. Hope she likes it.
Ingredients: CS-Purely Pomegranate, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, and Certainly Celery. Ink: Chocolate chip for the swirls and sponging, versamark for the embossing, Pretty in Pink marker for the petals and some sponging, and Certainly Celery for some sponging. (yep, lots of sponging) I mixed some white EP, pink EP and dazzling diamonds to stamp the flowers. Looks really neat IRL. And used some pink rhinestone brads I had kicking around. (cause you know I'll never use them on my boys layouts.) The stamp set is a SAB set, Friendship Blooms. I also have to admit I found a new love. Thomas Kinkade. If you don't know who Thomas is, he is the most famous living artist today. He paints beautiful scenery. I just had to have some of his 'paintings'. I ordered them through a friend who got them from Cornish Heritage Farms in the USA.
I did attempt to watercolor one image I stamped but I still need a little practise.
This first one, The Forest Chapel, I used Timber Brown stazon and didn't color it. It's beautiful stamped in just one color so I'll go that route until I master coloring it.

This one was stamped in Brocade Blue. I achieved the scalloped look by using my scallop circle punch, then cutting it apart. Hard to explain. If I have time today I may do a tutorial as I have no idea where I found the one that showed me how to do it.
P.S. Carol, I still need to get you your blog candy. Any guesses as to what it might be?? Here's a clue, 4 colors and it's known to be chunky.

Good night all.

Valentine's Day

So this is the card I made for dh at 10pm on the 13th. (he was working until midnight) I CASEd it from SCS again. But I changed the colors, the ribbon and the hearts. Also, I didn't have the stamp with that saying so I typed it on the computer and printed it. Of course he loved it.!
What did you do for your better half for V-Day??

Colby's treat boxes

Colby wanted to do something different for his Wee college friends so I told him we could make these sour cream containers. (they're super easy) He picked out 3 stamp sets and yes, it was bugs, Christmas and shapes. I tried to explain the whole heart/love thing, but he didn't care. lol This is what he made, 5 for classmates and 2 for the teachers. The white are for the boys and pink for the girls. I think he did a pretty awesome job. :D

Valentine treats

I made some treat boxes for my sons preschool class for Valentines Day. I'm sure there will come a point when this will embarras him, so for now, I get to make cute little boxes. He wasn't so sure about putting hears on them but I eventually convinced him. I used transparency sheet to make the windows and just an assortment of red ribbons I had in my stash. These are the 2-4-6-8 boxes and I put 1/3 cup of cinnamon hearts into each but still look empty. Oh well.
Colby helped a little with these boxes and then decided he'd make his own for his Wee College classmates. Got them 1/2 done yesterday and will finish up today so I'll post them tomorrow I hope.

Oh, and I guess I should announce the winner of my blog candy. Let me see, 2 names entered, so I'll have my son point to one of the names....

And his little finger landed on Carol. I'll rummage through my stash and see what I can find. lol

Girls night out

So I actually escaped last night and went scrapping with some girlfriends. Had a total blast!! Hopefully they'll invite me back.
I got a few layouts done, I was a little tired so not as productive as I could have been. Plus it's been a LONG time since I've been out to scrap.
Side note: The layouts are not crooked, it's just the picture. (too lazy to fix it)
Here are my parents on their 40th anniversary in October. The only thing SU! is the swirl stamp on the '40' and the cardstock. My baby and his lashes. Carstock, pp, and small rubon flower are from SU!
The only thing on this layout from SU! is the cardstock. I am LOVING the textured cardstock. Need to get more!!

I'm hoping to scrap a little more tonight. Hopefully I can get the hooligans to bed early. :)

From my little sis

Here is a little something from my sister Eva. She needed a birthday card for her Father in law and this is what she made. Used Lovely as a Tree set. I thought it was a pretty awesome card!! So everyone who leaves a comment on this post will go into a draw for a little blog candy. I'll draw a name next Sunday.
Just a reminder, it's SALE-A-BRATION time again. For every $70.00 order you place you get to pick an exclusive stamp set for free. (you pick from 5 sets or a pack of rubons) Also if you host a workshop you earn a free set for every $400 in sales. Great way to build up that stamp collection!! Just give me a call.
Hoping to have more to post in the next week.

For my girls...

I came across this cute little purse tutorial and just had to try it. These purses are actually made to hold the little nugget chocolates. I didn't have any on hand so I put pink M&M's into little baggies and put them inside. I made one for all my S6 girls that are coming tonight. Hope they like them. The purse is made with one strip pink cardstock that measures 5" x 1.5", pretty small, but oh so cute!!
