At the fair...

I have signed up to have a table at the Roland Pumpkin Fair so that means I need to get busy making stuff to sell. I've started a few projects, praying for rain so I can finish them and start some more.
Here are 2 stationary sets, I made 6 in total, all a little different. They are made using one sheet of 8.5 x 11 cs, a few envelopes and some copy paper. Stamp them all to match and it looks cute. Some I used ribbon to close and some have a band.

I also made 4 of these little index card note books. I used my bind it all to bind it, covered some chipboard with pattern paper and decorated the cover a little. There is 1/2 a pack of index cards used for the pages.

Will keep posting as I finish items.

**Also a reminder for my open house tomorrow. Come and go between 10am and 6pm.
Can't wait to see you there.

Classes anyone??

So I've been working on my fall/winter class schedule and I was wondering if there was anything specific you'd like me to teach. I've already got several classes on my list but I'm open to all kinds of suggestions.
I'm also planning a scrapbooking day for the fall, anything you'd like to see at that? (it'll be on a Saturday 9am-9pm kinda thing)
Any dates that work better than others? Days of the week you prefer to leave the house? Let me know your thoughts on all this and I'm hoping to have a list, with dates, by the end of July.

Tagged

Well it looks like I've been tagged. I don't know if I can come up with 7 interesting facts about me. I've always thought I'm rather boring. lol But here goes:

1. By my 20th birthday I had moved 20 times.

2. Seafood makes me gag.

3. If no one bugs me, I love laying in the sun.

4. I actually like cleaning.

5. I'm a stepmother.

6. I'm technically a grandmother, (but I don't see it that way, I'm only 33!)

7. I own a dog but I'm a cat lover at heart.

Now, I don't know 7 people who blog that I can tag. So if you're reading this and have a blog, consider yourself tagged!!

Artist in the making

Colby was just dying to make one of the cards we did at my card class. So I let him pick which one and cut the pieces for him and distressed the edges. The rest he did himself. Too cute. He was so excited and wants to give this card to his Uncle Dwayne who is arriving tomorrow from out of town.

Thanks for looking.

Here they are

All the cards we made yesterday. Well all except one (the one my sister stole from me). And of course it took much longer than I thought. I always seem to underestimate how long it will take us to make the cards. Maybe it's because of all the laughing we did. It was a great night and I thank all the ladies who came and participated.

This first card used Lovely as a Tree (thankfully it's not on the retirement list). We used Chocolate Chip craft ink with clear embossing powder for the trees and sentiment. I love the added detail of the three score lines.

The next set of cards used Summer by the Sea. Such an awesome set for watercoloring or using just as is. I let them chose the colored cardstock, stamp image and which ribbon they wanted to use. They were all different, all beautiful.

The Grovy Guava carousel note is what was used to make this gift card holder. Stamped the Baroque Motifs swirl with Basic Grey ink and edged in craft white. Used a strip of Basic Grey cardstock to hold it all together. The flower was punched out using the Boho Blossoms punch.
A Wish for You card, looks complicated but the girls said was really simple. We used the DTP (direct to paper) technique on the cardstock and the distresser tool. The stars were stamped then punched.
This double pocket card was really cute, and the girls didn't even get confused with my horrible directions. lol
We used the Close to Cocoa designer series paper, tab & circle punch, Priceless stamp set and Pretty in Pink cs.
The Blue Bayou card used the new sneak peak set called Fresh Cuts. It's beautiful, so glad I got it. I think it was one of the fav's for the girls. Except for having to do that scallop edge, but the good news is, in the new catalog, SU! has a scallop edge punch!! So exciting.

This last card was just a little 3 x 3 note. Just a quick stamp with the Essence of Love set, a sentiment and tie on a ribbon. Used the Blue Bayou here too, the ink and ribbon. So sad to see that color go, BUT next catalogs in color colors are beautiful. Can't wait. August 11th we can start ordering from the new catalog.
So ya, it was a good evening, laughed a lot, spilt some drinks, stamped a little crooked, stayed up way too late and the girls went home with some wonderful cards. Thanks again ladies.

Boy,

has it been a busy day. Cutting and preping for the card class tomorrow. Of course, I always do it last minute. I must love the pressure. lol I have quite the arrangement of cards for tomorrow so I hope you're all ready to stay up late and work hard!! Any drink requests ladies?? (I think that'll be a loaded question) Haven't decided if there will be snacks as that is just too distracting. lol
Oh ya, I guess you're all wondering who won the retired set huh? Well, I was going to post a picture of the set but then I remembered the whole copyright thing and I can't do that. So the best I've got for you is that it's called Happy Harmony. It's mostly sayings with a flower (weed) stamp. Very nice anyway.
Before I announce the winner I'm going to share a few stats with you. Keep in mind, this is my business. (my line I use on Dwight when I'm explaining why I have to have a new set) In total I have 85 SU! sets sitting in my shelf. Right now, I have 20 current sets, so that means I have 65 sets that I cannot use to promote my business. And of the 20 I have left, I'm losing 7, which means I'm going to have to do some serious shopping in the new catalog!! It also means Carol won the set. (if she knows my sets that well, I think I may have to keep an eye on her from now on! *wink*) It also means I'm going to have to weed out the old and unloved to make room for the new ones. So look out for an open house later in July.
